A Love Story: A Watch to Share Life’s Moments

Today, I want to share the story of a gift with a unique purpose—a timeline of my children’s lives, captured in an object that tells its own story. And, of course, that object is a watch. A watch that holds the energy of life’s most important moments as it accompanies me through them, always close by.

This particular watch has been with me and my little girl through all her major milestones: birthdays, her first day of school, her first sports competition, and even her final ballet exam. My hope is that it will continue to be by my side through her life’s special moments, right up until her wedding day—or another meaningful occasion—when I’ll pass it on to her.

The idea is simple: to enjoy wearing a watch that holds a special place in my life and, one day, to pass it on to her as a gift. She’ll know that this was her watch from the moment she was born and that it was with us through every chapter of her life

Naturally, such a special girl deserves a special watch. The piece I chose is a  Gerald Genta Retro classic. There’s something magical and fun about it, with a jumping hour complication and a timeless design that’s both clean and elegant. I engraved her name and birth date on the back so that, no matter what, this watch is marked as hers alone. Sometimes I think that the watch’s ticking and her heartbeat are in sync—that’s when these beautiful objects become the storytellers of the moments we share with them.

I’ll admit that I even wear it when I have a special event that she can’t attend; it feels like she’s holding my hand whenever I see it on my wrist.
